So. Darn. GOOD!!!!!! My friend and I visited RedFarm on a Saturday night without a reservation on Lunar new year of all days! Suffice it to say the place was packed but we were given an option to sit at a table outside and have an accelerated dining experience (a reservation was coming in about an hour) or to dine at the bar. We were not at all made to feel as if we were bothersome or in the way. In fact, we felt very welcome with how much effort they put into making space for us. We opted for the bar and decided to share several items - crispy vegetable and peanut dumplings, bbq'd beef fried rice, crispy sweet and sour shrimp, and shrimp stuffed shishito poppers. I can't muster a SINGLE critique about any of the food. In fact, I would like to be buried in the kitchen at RedFarm so I can die happy. It was perfect and delicious from beginning to end. I don't remember the name of the drink I ordered, something with watermelon and tequila. It was okay but not memorable. The only other thing I can offer is that the bar seats are not very comfortable for an extended dining experience like ours but the food was worth a little pain and discomfort. Look forward to returning, with a reservation next time!
One of the only restaurants where I always crave the food and don't mind waiting in the summer heat or winter cold for a table even if it's at the communal one. My son loves the food too so it's one of our go to places. And a healthy option too! Once you're in the service is good and the food comes quickly. Everything on their menu is delicious.
This place was great! We were sat near the door and I was cold so we asked the server if we could move and the manager was so kind letting us take another table. We ordered dumplings, noodles, rice with beef and everything was better than the next and the portions are large. The beer and cider were also cold and delicious. The whole experience was great and I can't wait to come back!
First time here and I must say it was an excellent experience. The food was outstanding, and so flavorful. Everything seemed so fresh. I had a bunch of food, but what stood out the most was the lamb empanadas believe it or not. The service was great. We had a very attentive and knowledgeable server. She even brought over a dessert for my sister's birthday. The vibe inside was chill, a bit loud but decor and everything worked fine. We had a great time and will be back again for sure.
Not your traditional Chinese restaurant. Redfarm caters to the UWS families and friends. First thing we noticed was that there weren't two versions of the menu, one in English and another in Chinese. We reserved a table. Service was quick once we arrived. Dishes came out in a good pace so we were not rushed. The duck was very good, highly recommend. The inside was definitely noisier. Pick outside seating if you want to have conversation.
Was super happy to see that this place had a gluten free menu with several dim sum options - - POTSTICKERS!!!! Walked in without a reservation and they had an available table outside - - seemed a little more chill so worked for us. Service was quick and attentive. Cold sake was refreshing. Arugula Mango Salad was delicious but had more tomato than mango. GF potstickers were tasty and the GF shrimp and scallop fried rice was yum. Bathroom is in a hallway in the back of the restaurant. Street parking looks difficult.
It's not your typical Chinese restaurant and make sure not to skip desserts here! This place is packed and can get really loud, just a fair warning. The service is 5 stars all the way. Our server, folks handing out our food, and the manager was so friendly and made our dinner so much more. They have a full bar and they made some good drinks. I enjoyed their old fashioned. Now the food. Make sure to go to their website to see pictures of every dish on their menu. We ordered too much food. From their pastrami egg rolls (really good), soup dumplings for my girl (huge!), pac man dumplings (every dumpling had a mixture with shrimp - important for those that don't like shrimp), soft shell crab, and steamed sea bass, I enjoyed my meal. The only miss was their pork belly and rice cake dish. Meh. I got their chocolate cake and ice cream and probably the best dish of the night was their flan! My goodness. Must have for those that love flan.
This review is from a visit back in mid December 2023. We planned our day specifically to end it here and were very happy with that choice. Between the five of us, we ordered a crazy amount of food so while I cannot remember exactly what we ordered, I can say, you really cannot go wrong. It was like 30 minutes to closing time and everything was still delicious. Dumplings and Noodles were the right amount of chewy, all veggies were delicious, everything was tasty! Drinks were also very good! The real winner though was the service. It felt like you were just at a friend's home and that really took the entire experience over the top! Highly recommend!
